Questions and Answers

Where should I sit?
There is plenty of seating available in the sanctuary. Sit wherever you feel comfortable – there are no reserved seats.

What should I wear to church?
There is no right way to dress at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Some people get quite dressed up and others dress more casually. Wear whatever makes you comfortable.

What about my children?
Children are important to the life of Emanuel Lutheran Church. Your children are always welcome to stay with you during the worship service. If you prefer, of course, you may take your children to the nursery for quality care during the service. A “cry room” is also available at the rear of the sanctuary. The parent is still able to see and hear the service from the cry room area.

Do you have Sunday School?
Education Hour is provided for age three through adult at 10:30 a.m. Children gather in Moerer Hall at 10:30 a.m. Adults meet in the Fireside Room of the fellowship hall for a forum entitled "Between Our Worship." 

Adult Bible Study meets each Sunday at 8:30 AM in the Fireside Room of the fellowship hall (Moerer Hall). You are invited to attend this discussion-style Bible class.

How can I follow what’s going on during the service?
To make it easy for you to follow the service, we have bulletins available from the ushers as you enter. The bulletins will tell you the order the service will follow. The service is also on the projection screen.

Should I receive Holy Communion?
If you would receive Communion in your home church, you are welcome to Commune at Emanuel Lutheran. The ushers will indicate when it is time for you to approach the front. If you choose not to receive Communion, please feel free to come forward for a blessing.

May I meet the pastor?
The pastors will be available as you exit the sanctuary after the service. Please introduce yourself and let us know you are a visitor. Our pastors are also available for private conversation during the week.

Is there a social time after the service?
Please join us after the service for a cup of coffee in the Fellowship Hall. This is a great time to meet new friends. 

What if I still have questions?
If you still have questions, please ask us! Our goal is to be a very user-friendly church. We have greeters and ushers positioned at the main entrace of the church to greet you and answer your questions. Please do not hesitate to ask them a question or request their assistance.
