Sunday School

We at Emanuel Lutheran Church are blessed with a wonderful Sunday School program taught by loving dedicated teachers. Our teachers stay with the same class so that students get to know them throughout the year. We currently offer classes beginning at age three through high school:

• The younger grades are currently using curriculum published by Augsburg Fortress entitled SPARK.  Students spend a number of weeks learning about the same Bible story through a variety of different mediums such as art, storytelling and drama, cooking, music, and games. 
• The junior high class just finished a very in-depth look at the Book of Revelation and will now be studying Hebrews. 
• The high school class, having just spent over a year going through the Book of Genesis, will now take some time to looki at the Letters of Paul. 
• Community service is another area of Christian life we promote in Sunday School.  We collect a weekly offering and put it toward a specific project or donation to assist some outreach ministries.  These have included providing food for the La Habra Community Care Resource Center, funds for the Good Samaritan Fund, and cleaning supplies for the Women's Transitional Living Center. 

We have a faithful group of students in all grade levels and we encourage all students to bring friends and family as well. All visitors are warmly welcomed and encouraged to return on a regular basis.

Community service is another area of Christian life that we promote in Sunday School. We believe that it’s never too soon to learn how to serve others. Drama and music opportunities are also a way that our program teaches our belief in Jesus Christ.

All ages meet at 10:30AM on Sunday mornings. Grades preschool through 6th meet in our fellowship hall for their opening. The junior high and high school classes meet at 10:30AM in their respective classrooms on the south end of the property.

We love to see new faces at any time and relish the opportunity to spread the Good News of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
